About us
About Free Deposit Check
Free Deposit Check is a free service for tenants in England. We check whether your landlord protected your tenancy deposit and, if they did not, introduce you to a solicitor who can claim the compensation the law allows: one to three times the deposit.
Start Your Free CheckWho We Are
Free Deposit Check is a trading style of FLUXMA Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16655882). Registered office: Hall Farm, Langley, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 0HW. You can look us up on the Companies House register.
What We Do, And What We Do Not
- Check whether your deposit is protected in DPS, TDS or mydeposits, free
- Explain what the result means and what the law says you could claim
- Introduce eligible tenants to SRA-regulated solicitors who act on a no win, no fee basis
- Help you gather the documents the solicitor needs
- We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice
- We are not connected to DPS, TDS, mydeposits or the government
- We only help with tenancies in England
- We never ask for a password, PIN or card number
How We Are Paid
The check is free and you are under no obligation to claim. If you do claim, the solicitor works on a no win, no fee basis. If you win, the solicitor's success fee of up to 25% + VAT comes out of your compensation. If you lose, you pay the solicitor nothing. The full breakdown, with a worked example, is in what a claim costs.
How We Write Our Guides
Our guides explain the law for tenants in plain English. Each one is based on the legislation and official guidance, mainly the Housing Act 2004 (sections 212 to 215), the Housing (Tenancy Deposits) (Prescribed Information) Order 2007, the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and GOV.UK, and lists its sources at the end. Every guide shows the date it was last updated, and we review them when the law changes. They are general information, not legal advice about your own situation.
